Volunteering abroad is one of the most gratifying and impactful experiences you’ll ever choose to take part in, so what about coming to Malawi & spending 10 days helping children by stripping back and rebuilding one of the local primary school blocks. Each day you will be transferred through the wildlife reserve to one of our schools where you will be supervised by a Malawian foreman & Tongole Foundation employees & by the final day we would hope you will be able to stand back & see what you have achieved for the benefit of children who have so little.

Accommodation
Tongole Wilderness Retreat is an exciting eco-tourism venture deep within the pristine woodlands of the Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve. Our vision was to create a stunning luxury wilderness lodge with first-class accommodation, food, service, and safari activities that will delight our guests. The long-term aim is to benefit the local communities and the conservation of the abundant wildlife through sustainable tourism. The lodge has created significant training and employment opportunities in a deprived part of the country and with it has brought hope and pride in the area.
Built with a vision of sustainability, the luxury safari lodge is fully eco-friendly. Both electricity and hot water are produced by solar energy.
Tongole is the only high-end lodge in the reserve, perfectly positioned a unique location on the forested banks of the beautiful Bua River. This is one of Africa’s, and possibly Malawi’s last remaining truly unexploited areas of wilderness attracting those who seek an exceptional wilderness experience with all the comforts of home.

The group will fund raise before your departure enabling us to buy materials which cost on average £5,000 per school block so your efforts will help children improve their future and also help us protect wildlife.
